Frequently Asked Questions

Day one is arrival, lunch, then the Tharu village tour and sunset viewpoint, followed by the culture programme in the evening. Day two is the full day of wildlife — your jeep or elephant safari, the canoeing trip, a jungle walk and the elephant breeding centre. Day three is breakfast and departure. Exact timings shift with the weather and the park schedule, and we confirm them with you on arrival.

This package includes one of the two, and the choice is yours. If you would like to do both, the second can be arranged at additional cost — just tell us when booking or when you arrive.

In normal conditions, yes. During the peak monsoon months the Rapti can run high and fast, and the canoe trip is suspended for safety. When that happens we substitute another activity of equal value rather than simply dropping it.

Neutral-coloured clothing, closed walking shoes, insect repellent and a hat. Binoculars and a camera are well worth carrying. Bright colours and strong scents are best avoided — they make wildlife harder to approach.
